Liz and Stuart Trangmar acquired the White Pheasant in November 2001. Our aim was to offer top quality food that is simple, full of flavour, and well presented without being pretentious. That aim hasn’t changed.

We use the best of seasonal local produce and want you to enjoy it in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Depending on the season, you can eat beef or rare breed lamb from Fordham, asparagus from Isleham, pheasant and partridge from Exning or rhubarb from the garden. Even the organic flour to make our bread is locally grown and ground.

All this symbolises our focus on producing homemade food, supporting local suppliers and making the most of our local larder.

Proper beer and excellent wines are also important. We feature ales from different local breweries – in some cases personally delivered by the brewer himself! The wine list is constantly evolving with many interesting wines sensibly priced and served without fuss.
